TACT North West Rated Outstanding by Ofsted For Second Time
TACT’s North West fostering service has been rated outstanding by Ofsted for the second consecutive inspection, reaffirming the exceptional support provided to children, young people and foster carers across the region.
Inspectors awarded the service the highest possible rating for:
- Overall experiences and progress of children and young people
- How well children and young people are helped and protected
- The effectiveness of leaders and managers
The report highlighted the ‘exceptional care’ provided to children living with TACT foster families, noting that children develop trust, confidence and a strong sense of belonging, while benefiting from stable and nurturing homes.
Ofsted also praised the service’s strong safeguarding practice, ambitious leadership and child-centred cultures, as well as TACT’s commitment to helping children achieve positive outcomes in education, emotional wellbeing and long-term stability.

The inspection took place in June 2026 and found that children consistently feel safe, valued and part of their foster families, with leadership described as inspirational and practice as reflective and child focused.
