TACT CEO Featured on BBC Radio 4
Earlier this month, our CEO Andy Elvin appeared on BBC Radio 4’s flagship Today programme to highlight the growing crisis in foster carer recruitment and the Government’s ongoing failure to address it.
Speaking at 8.35am (2 hours and 35 minutes into the broadcast), Andy shed light on the increasing pressures facing fostering services across the UK and the urgent need for meaningful reform and support.
In the interview, Andy describes the situation as “deeply concerning,” calling out the woeful lack of action from the Government, despite repeated warnings and mounting evidence that the current system is struggling to cope. He emphasised the real-life impact of this recruitment shortfall—on children, carers, and the wider social care system.
Listeners can hear the full interview by following this link and jumping to the 2:35:00 mark.
This appearance comes as part of our wider campaign to bring attention to the recruitment crisis and push for policies that properly support foster carers and the children who rely on them.
