TACT Yorkshire & North East Half-term Fun!

Our Yorkshire & North East teams held a variety of events over the February half-term for their children and young people – with over 70 people attending the events altogether – which was an amazing!

First up was a teen only event at Team Sport in Sheffield, where the young people got to try their hand at go-karting. They loved racing around the tracks with one young person commenting on how much of an adrenaline rush it gave them! They then went for pizza afterwards and the young people reflected on the event – with one young person saying they really enjoyed the activity as it was a “different and exciting thing to do as a group”, whilst another expressed how nice it was “to make friends with other people my age”.

Next we had our Healthy Relationships Workshop at Thirsk Library. In total 14 young people attended the event. The interactive session was designed to engage young people in a safe, structured environment, to explore the topics of consent, healthy relationships, understanding boundaries and more. The content was carefully differentiated to meet the developmental and emotional needs of the group and the young people learnt a lot from the session.

Lastly we had our Family Event at Flip Out in Leeds, where we had an incredible 48 attendees! We had some new young people attend who quickly made friends and existing friends were able to catch up which was lovely. Our foster carers also had some time to catch up with each other in the café – and it was nice for them to have some downtime together.

All in all, an engaging mix of fun and learning, that our young people enjoyed very much!
