TACT Carers Win ‘Outstanding Carers of the Year’ Award

TACT is proud to announce that foster carers Julia and Adan have been honoured with the prestigious ‘Outstanding Carers of the Year’ award at the Cardiff Bright Sparks Awards.

The couple, who have dedicated 17 years to fostering, were nominated by their young person’s Independent Reviewing Officer, who praised their “true commitment” to the child they have cared for, spanning many years. Julia and Adan’s unwavering support has made a profound and lasting impact on the lives of the children they have fostered.

The Bright Sparks Awards, hosted annually by Cardiff City Council, celebrate the accomplishments of children and young people who have experienced care, as well as the invaluable support they receive from foster carers, social workers, and others.

Julia and Adan are highly respected members of the TACT fostering family. Throughout their 17 years as foster carers, they have provided life-changing care, making a positive difference in the lives of countless young people.

“Being a foster carer is the best thing we’ve ever done. It’s not until you talk to people about being a foster carer that you realise how far you’ve come. Each and every day, we just try to do our best for the young people we look after.”

Reflecting on their fostering journey, Julia and Adan shared, “Being a foster carer is the best thing we’ve ever done. It’s not until you talk to people about being a foster carer that you realise how far you’ve come. Each and every day, we just try to do our best for the young people we look after. The fact that we’ve been able to help change children’s lives and give them the opportunity for a better life is amazing. I’m just so glad we made the decision to become foster carers.”
