Connect at Berwick Literary Festival
Connect, our community for care-experienced young people and adults, are heading to the Berwick Literary Festival on 13th October to discuss the book Free Loaves on Fridays, which has been edited by Rebekah Pierre.
The book, which is an anthology of stories, poems, reflections, and letters by over 100 care-experienced people, aims to challenge worn-out stereotypes about the care system. Connect Lead, Nicola Lewis, will join Rebekah and Sam Upton, an activist and consultant whose work focuses on amplifying the care-experienced community, on a panel aimed to raise discussions about the book.

Connect’s vision is to create an empowering community for life for all care-experienced young people and adults – an inclusive and safe haven where members can be themselves, be heard, and have the choice of having others alongside them throughout life’s journey.
