Careers With TACT
Creating better lives, together
At TACT Fostering, we’re united by a shared purpose: to create better lives for children, young people and care experienced adults. We’re not your average fostering agency, we’re a charity, which means we exist for children, not profit.
Our fostering services up and down the country make sure the children and young people in our care are looked after, as well as their foster carers.
“Working at TACT means connection, care and creativity. We are all working towards the same values, and I love the creativity to think about how else we can make a difference, and improve things for our young people and carers” – Sian, TACT’s Head of Education

We’re also guided to make the right decisions and inspired to make a difference by our values. We are:

We provide a safe and trusting environment where people can connect and thrive. We include the views, feelings and thoughts of all who work with us, particularly those who may be marginalised.

We’re for children, not profit, and we reinvest our funds into the support and services that directly impact children and young people. We’re fair, courageous and transparent to all.

We provide the best possible care for our children, young people, care experienced adults, foster carers and colleagues. We show compassion and empathy in our approach, and are led by trauma-informed principles.
“I instantly enjoyed the atmosphere within the teams I was involved with, making me feel welcome and admired the values of the organisation. I have had great opportunities over the last 7 years which has included being part of the Family Finding team helping secure those all-important matches for our carers and being able to support our fostering families more directly through our Engagement and Activity Practitioner role. It’s these roles that helped revitalise my original ambition to become a Social Worker.”

Our Specialist Services
We’re proud to have a number of specialist services in-house that provide additional support to our frontline teams, foster carers and young people. They include:
What our colleagues say about us
“Working at TACT means I’m making a difference and that’s powerful” – Trudy, Senior People Business Partner
“Working at TACT means being a part of an organisation that is child focused in every way – and focused on the child’s lived experience” – Chloe, Recruitment Manager
“I’m finally in a job where I feel supported and valued. My team are amazing, and I see every day the things we do for our carers and young people. I am very proud to work for TACT” – Susanne, Engagement and Activity Practitioner
“Working at TACT gives me a great feeling that I work with such a great organisation that creates better lives for children, young people and care experienced adults.” – Gillian, CEA to the CEO
“TACT is a rare organisation that lives its values and puts children at the heart of decision making. That means a lot for a social worker like me and not my experience in other places I have worked, TACT is a place where we work together to do our best every day to get it right for children and to care for others” – Alister, Director of Strategy
“Working at TACT means a lot, I work with some amazing people who are so passionate and committed to the work they do and I love getting to be a part of it. I like that TACT feels familiar, we are all working with similar values and attitudes and I appreciate the time spent in TACT to always be looking forward. It would be easy to think “well, we’re good enough at that”, but that’s just not the attitude in TACT, it’s more about us all keeping trying to make positive impacts and that can be really hard to find, so I’m so glad I found it with TACT.” – Laura, Senior People Development Business Partner
