TACT Support ‘Best’ Foster Care Fortnight campaign
It’s Foster Care Fortnight from 12th– 25th May 2025. Established by charity The Fostering Network, the annual event is a time to truly celebrate the remarkable role foster carers play in empowering children to rediscover their voice and realise their potential.
Each year, a different theme is chosen for the campaign. The focus for 2025 is The Power of Relationships. Here at TACT, we feel that this is one of the best campaign themes The Fostering Network have created.
“So relationships are at the heart of everything TACT does. There’s the relationship our foster carers have with their Supervising Social Workers, the relationship they have with the Admin Workers in their local team and the relationships they have with their central teams. So TACT are just one big family, and we’re all geared to doing one thing: making sure that children can be looked after and brought up in safe, stable and loving homes.”

The initiative aims to highlight the pivotal role that enduring, supportive relationships play in the lives of children and young people in foster care. Whether between foster carers and children, social workers or birth families, relationships are fundamental in creating stability and focusing support in a nurturing and therapeutic environment.
We feel it is one of the best campaigns because not only does it focus on human connections, but it is inclusive of the whole ‘team around a child’ – without exception.
It highlights that foster carers do not operate in silo – that they have a robust support network around them. For young people, it underscores that the team around them aren’t necessarily transient; that the relationships and bonds established can continue far beyond their time in the care system.
Here at TACT, we’ve been busy talking to our staff and foster carers about the human connections that are important to them. We’ve compiled a list of the key relationships that we feel are the most important in foster care. Read more in our Foster Care Fortnight guide.
