TACT Scotland’s ‘Joyful’ Event For Foster Carers & Young People

TACT Scotland recently hosted a heart-warming celebration to honour its foster carers and young people, bringing together a vibrant community of support, laughter, and shared memories. The event was filled with the sounds of joy, as 27 foster carers, 9 staff members, and many of our children and young people gathered. The range of ages was truly special, from children as young as 4 months to young adults up to 21 years old, while the experience of our foster carers spanned from 5 months to 15 years.

Area Manager Natasha led the celebrations, personally presenting each foster carer household with a thoughtful gift bag. The bags included candles, chocolates, TACT merchandise, and a bubble bar or bath bomb, generously donated by LUSH. Natasha also took a moment to reflect with each carer on their time with TACT, acknowledging the highs, lows, laughter, tears, and everything in between. Each carer was then awarded a certificate, marking their valuable contributions and commitment. 

Meanwhile, our young people were entranced by a magician performing in a separate room, with many of them fully absorbed in the magic. The excitement and wonderment of the show provided a shared experience that would remain a treasured memory for all who attended. 

The event also featured a delicious lunch, with foster carers and staff reconnecting with old friends and forging new relationships. It was a beautiful reminder of the strength and sense of community that defines TACT Scotland. 

Before leaving, all the children and young people were given a TACT-branded sweetie cone and another bubble bar from LUSH, spreading even more smiles across the day. 

Feedback from the event has been overwhelmingly positive. Foster carers expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to come together, share experiences, and reflect on the vital role they play in the lives of some of society’s most vulnerable children. 

This celebration truly humbled us all, serving as a powerful reminder of the essential work and unwavering dedication of our foster carers.
