London, Essex & Hertfordshire Rated ‘Good’

Following an inspection in January, our East London, Hertfordshire and Essex team have been awarded an overall ‘good’ rating by Ofsted.

In their report, inspectors noted how young people have developed close and meaningful relationships with their foster carers, and that their foster carers help them to feel a strong sense of belonging. One child told inspectors: “I like this home, [the foster carers are] nice and kind all the time – no matter what – they don’t give up on me, never!”

TACT was also praised for its support to care leavers through its Connect community and noted how our dedicated Engagement and Activity Practitioners help to ensure children and young people have ‘a wide range of enriching experiences… to build their resilience and confidence’.

“We’re really pleased to see the hard work and dedication provided by our colleagues and foster carers highlighted in this report. Hearing the great things our children and young people had to say was heart-warming and we’re all extremely proud”

Priscilla Makambe, Area Manager for London, Essex & Hertfordshire

Writing to our young people in the area, Inspector Colin Bent said: “We were really impressed by your foster carers, how well they knew you and your personalities, and how they talked positively about your progress.

“We can see that your foster carers and the staff are proud of your achievements and want you to do well.”
