John Lewis scheme raises over £2000 for TACT
TACT, who was selected by John Lewis as one of their chosen charities for the ‘Community Matters’ scheme, has received over £2000 that will be allocated to children and young people.
Every three months each John Lewis store is tasked with selecting three community groups or charities to receive donations. Each store has £3000 to donate, which is shared between the charities according to the proportion of the vote they’ve received from customers.
John Lewis Trafford chose TACT North West as one of their charities, and an amazing £1000 was allocated via a customer vote. The money will be used to celebrate the children and young people’s achievements at a dedicated event with music, dancing, crafts, soft play, food and much more. To get the children as involved as possible they will be invited to take a central role in the event by becoming DJs for the evening and creating art pieces to be displayed as decorations.
John Lewis Newcastle also chose TACT and the North East team received an incredible £1333 thanks to John Lewis customers! A portion of the money will go towards a day out dedicated to teenagers in July at Mission Out, an epic outdoor adventure park in Leeds. The young people will have the chance to play mini golf, try out water rafting, leap from the jump tower onto a giant airbag and much more! The rest of the money will go towards an additional event for all children and young people later in the year.
We want to thank John Lewis for running such a thoughtful and impactful scheme, as well as the Trafford and Newcastle stores for picking TACT as their chosen charities. The money raised will provide long-lasting memories for our children and young people that without community support may not be possible.
