Young Person Honoured with School Achievement Award
One of our young people has been recognised with a School Achievement Award – for ‘continual improvement across all subjects’.
The award was presented by TACT CEO, Andy Elvin, during a special wellbeing day at Thorpe Park on 1st August 2025. With over 100 young people, foster carers and staff in attendance, the event was a celebration of achievement and connection.
Our young person’s award was accepted on their behalf by their foster carer, Steven – who was incredibly proud to see their efforts recognised. Reflecting on the achievement, Steven said: “Being recognised certainly gives him a good sense of self and improves his self-esteem. It also promotes his continual development by assuring him that his efforts are recognised.
“He has always received positive recognition and praise where appropriate from TACT and ourselves, so it will ‘top up’ his sense of achievement.”

This award is a wonderful reflection of the progress our young person has made, both academically and personally. Their journey demonstrates how consistency, encouragement and belief in one’s abilities can lead to remarkable growth and development. For many young people in care, school can sometimes be a challenging environment – but with the right support, understanding, and motivation, they can thrive and discover their full potential.
At TACT, we believe that recognising and celebrating success is a powerful part of building confidence and self-worth. Awards like this do more than highlight academic achievement – they remind our young people that effort, resilience, and perseverance truly matter. Every milestone reached is a step toward a brighter and more confident future.
This achievement is thoroughly deserved, and we are incredibly proud of our young person and the progress they have made!
